Making Memories Nationwide Quilt Contest

Sometimes donated gowns arrive too damaged or stained to be resold at our “Brides Against Breast Cancer” nationwide tour of gowns. These gowns and those that have been specifically donated for that purpose are reserved for our “National Quilt Contest.”

Quilters receive 12 wedding gowns of different fabrics and trim to make a queen-size (or larger) quilt. Making Memories sells the finished quilts for $2000 or more to help fund wishes.

Make a Quilt
This year's quilting contest ends September 15, 2005. If you or your quilting group would like to receive gowns from Making Memories for a quilting project, contact us for more additional information by sending an email to fran@makingmemories.org and write “Request for Quilting Information” in the subject title. There are no special patterns you're required to follow; quilts are individual and should be made to your unique specifications and design. We ask that you pay shipping charges on the gowns you request. The charges are 100% TAX DEDUCTIBLE.

Please note: At this time, Making Memories Foundation HAS NO GOWNS AVAILABLE TO BE TURNED INTO QUILTS. If you have requested gowns in the past and still have not received your gowns, please understand that we are only able to fulfill requests as we receive damaged gowns. At this time we have a backlog of over 75 requests for quilt boxes. Feel free to add your name to the list and you will be contacted prior to gowns being sent, once they become available.

Donate a Gown for a Quilt
When sending a damaged gown for the quilting contest, please attach a letter indicating the gown is being donated for the contest. Gowns may be sent to:
